Elvis Presley's famous blue suede shoes are being auctioned

What’s the matter

Elvis Presley’s original blue suede shoes are going under the hammer at the British auction house Henry Aldridge and Son.

The iconic footwear from Presley’s 1956 debut album is expected to fetch between $126,000 (₹105,16,527) and $152,000 (₹126,83,214).

The “King of Rock n Roll” famously wore size 10.5 Nann-Bush shoes during his performance of “I Want You, I Need You, I Love You” on The Steve Allen Show in July 1956.

Presley’s use and giving away of the legendary shoes offstage

Presley often wore these blue suede shoes on and off stage in the 1950s.

Remarkably, he also wore them for his “Hound Dog” performance on The Steve Allen Show.

In 1958, the night before he left for his service in the U.S. Army, Presley gave these shoes to his friend Alan Fortas.

The auction lot also includes a letter from Fortas describing the night he received this memorable gift from Presley.

Authenticity of Presley’s blue suede shoes confirmed

The authenticity of the blue suede shoes was confirmed by Jimmy Velvet, a close friend of Presley and founder of the Elvis Presley Museum.

The auction lot comes with a certificate of authenticity hand signed by Velvet.

According to Fortas’ letter quoted on the auction site, “Elvis threw an all-night party at Graceland before he was drafted into the Army” and gave him these blue suede shoes after returning from a visit to the Rainbow Roller Rink.

Auction of Presley’s iconic shoes begins soon

Described as an “iconic collection of show business memorabilia that simply transcends 20th century pop culture,” bidding for these legendary shoes starts at around $69,600 (Rs. 5,768,000).

The auction is scheduled to begin this Friday.

These shoes are not just footwear, but an important part of music history and symbolize the legacy of the “King of Rock n Roll”.

Elvis Presley’s timeless hits: A milestone in the Billboard 200

Elvis Presley had many hits throughout his life, although not all of them are found on today’s Billboard charts. However, fans still appreciate these early singles.

The late singer’s album “Elv1s: 30 #1 Hits” features many of his most famous songs, including those that made the Billboard charts and those that were released too early to count.

Presley’s greatest hits collection was his first project to stay on the Billboard 200 for 200 weeks, reaching that milestone decades after his death.
