The Georgia Thunderbolts unveil video for new song “Crawling My Way Back To You”

The Georgia Thunderbolts have released the official lyric video for their new song “Crawling My Way Back To You”, which is taken from their new album “Rise above everything,’ is expected to be released on 23.August above Mascot Records.

Talk about I crawl back to yousays singer TJ Lyle, “This song could be about many different things, but everyone will naturally lean towards a relationship. I remember feeling mentally bad when I wrote this song. I didn’t want to get out of bed. I couldn’t live in the moment to think about what needed to be done in the future. For me, the song is honest and open about my relationship with music and other life-changing experiences. Like a love/hate relationship. Honestly, I had lost myself and my fire. This song gave me the inspiration to keep digging and find out more about my creative and personal side. Maybe it can do that for someone else!”

The band has also announced that they will play a series of tour dates in Europe in August and September, namely in Germany, Belgium, Denmark and France.

The album features the quintet’s signature blend of Southern rock, blues and soulful Americana. The 13-track album showcases the band’s ability to navigate a wide range of musical territory while capturing the profound emotional and artistic development fostered by their years of touring. “When you’re less harsh, more emotion can come through, and you hear that on this record,” says TJ Lyle, lead vocals, harmonica and keyboards. “This album crosses all genres of music,” he adds.

The band’s previous single Stand up, captures her in her element, performing this powerful track that combines gliding guitar riffs and soaring vocals with a Southern rock flair. “I think this song is relatable to many. It was written with the mindset of overcoming an obstacle I was facing at the time. I hope listeners can feel that. Perseverance, belief in yourself and perspective are key,” says Lyle. This followed the album’s first single, Gonna Shine, which was released in late 2023.

The road to becoming the new torchbearers of Southern rock hasn’t been as glamorous for the Georgia Thunderbolts as you might imagine. It wasn’t that many years ago that the guys were busking at gas stations, digging through covers and driving four hours to Alabama to play in front of a bartender and a three-legged dog on a barstool.

Today, the quintet from Rome, Georgia, is a critically acclaimed and internationally touring band, and their latest release is a reversal of the slump of their second album. The Georgia Thunderbolts are rounded out by Zach EverettBass, classical guitar, harmony vocals; Bristol PerryDrums; Logan Tolbertguitar; and Riley CouzzourtGuitar. The quintet’s earthy and soulful aesthetic encompasses the intimacy of late 1960s singer-songwriters, the yearning of the blues, the mythological stories of country, and a refreshing dose of classic hard rock fit for the arena.

They toured and shared the stage with artists such as Black Stone Cherry, Deep Purple, the Marshall Tucker Band, the Allman Betts Band, Blackberry Smoke, the Kentucky Headhunters, The Steel Woods And The Outlaws.

“We learned a lot from our heroes. Playing with those bands made us better musicians,” says TJ. “Plus, seeing the world as a songwriter broadens your perspective – you meet people from all walks of life.”
