Alexa Chung is one of the few women with an unmistakable style. Fairytale dresses, ballet flats and a touch of preppy-chic knitwear have become synonymous with her name in the fashion world.

While her fashion preferences remained largely unchanged, the model made a change when it came to her hairstyle earlier this week. On Tuesday, the 40-year-old debuted a new bronze hairstyle just in time for summer and stepped out at the Serpentine Gallery’s Summer 2024 party with a stunning beauty transformation.

Wearing a slinky shamrock green dress by Nensi Dojaka, the multi-talented model showed off her flaming locks for all of London to envy. The look, which was created with the help of Bleach London founder Alex Brownsell, immediately caught the eye of Alexa’s celebrity friends.

“Welcome to the club @alexachung,” wrote Harris Reed, also a red-headed man, and designer Anissa Kermiche added, “@alexbrownsell you’re a G.” Hunza G founder Georgiana Huddart remarked, “Incredible,” while fans compared the star to Julienne Moore and atonement Cecilia Tallis, played by Keira Knightley.

Alexa referenced her new and improved rare hairstyle, saying: “Atonement should have ended with her in the Archipelagic Void at the Serpentine Summer Party. Kidding it was perfect. Thank you @nensidojaka for that beautiful green dream dress, @florriewhitemakeup for my amazing makeup and the genius @alexbrownsell for making my hair ginger chocolate or whatever we should call it. It’s the same color as the Gin Gins candies I’m addicted to. Electric brown? Ginger brown?”

Given the rarity of red hair, it’s no surprise that Alexa’s look provoked such a strong reaction. According to Statista, “about 1 percent of the population has red hair, making it the rarest hair color in the world.” Likewise, Gitnux reported that red hair and blue eyes are the rarest combination in the world, taking Alexa’s blue-eyed, red-headed aesthetic to new heights.

Although Alexa couldn’t agree on a name for the shade, we all agree that this will be the color hit for the summer.
