Travis Kelce reveals why he broke royal protocol when meeting Prince William at Taylor Swift show

Swifties were everywhere the recent hype surrounding Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.

The atmosphere became really exciting when the 34-year-old singer of “Cruel Summer” took the 34-year-old NFL star on stage on Sunday (June 23). Epoch Tour Show at London’s Wembley Stadium.

And the excitement for the power couple continues to grow, especially after Travis spilled the beans on another memorable celebrity crossover on his podcast yesterday (June 26).

In case you haven’t noticed, Taylor surprised her fans by sharing a selfie with future king Prince William and two of the royal children after the family attended the concert.

On Friday evening (June 21), the Prince of Wales – along with his two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte – were spotted dancing to the pop icon’s 2014 hit “Shake it Off.”

However, it wasn’t just the royal additions to singer Taylor’s recent upload that had fans excited – it was the fact that Travis also featured in the iconic photo.

It later emerged that he and his brother Jason, also an American football player, had attended the soirée with the young royals.

And now, in the latest episode of their New heights In the podcast, Travis revealed why he “breached royal protocol” when he met Prince William at the show.

He explained: “We met royals, guys. There were royals at the show. I got there early and got to meet Prince William. How was that? Your Royal Highness.”

“Dude, he was the coolest motherf**ker. He was so cool.”

Then Jason chimed in: “He was great. He was a good guy.”

Travis continued, this time addressing British etiquette: “He was there with little George and Charlotte and it was a real pleasure to meet them.”

“I wasn’t sure if I should bow to them – out of politeness (or) just be an American idiot and shake their hands. We wanted to be polite, especially on this side of the pond.”

Jason, the former Philadelphia Eagles center, later stated that they had “violated royal protocol” because they were not required to bow to the prince in this case.

“We got a warning because, frankly, we don’t know the actual (etiquette),” he said.

“Because we were not at a fancy, official royal event, we did not have to bow. If it had been an official royal gathering, that would have been it.”

Jason concluded: “They were wonderful people, and that’s what it’s about. They’re part of a monarchy… (it’s) hard to be a down-to-earth person – I would guess. But (they) came across completely that way.”
