Oh, we have a surprise for you! Voice of the Stormsthe highly anticipated new album by Horse distilleris out this Friday, June 21st, but we have the exclusive album stream for you right here and now. Known for their high-energy sludge metal sound and stunning musicianship, Horseburner have consistently pushed boundaries, and their latest effort promises to be their most ambitious and dynamic release yet.

Since their formation in 2009, Horseburner has been compared to heavyweights like Mastodon and Baroness. With a unique sound rooted in their industrial Appalachian background and enhanced by conceptual themes, the band has proven to be a formidable force in the heavy rock scene. From their impressive debut Dead seeds, infertile soilto the celebrated album of 2019 The thiefHorseburner delivered consistently powerful and sonorous music.

Voice of the Storms is an allegorical commentary on the mistreatment of women throughout history, telling the story of a girl sold into child marriage who becomes infused with the spirit of the ancient Greek goddess of the hunt, Diana. This spirit unleashes chaos on a society that views women as mere objects or currency. Musically, the record is a sludge-prog triumph, combining blistering tempos, fearless hooks and powerful riffs to create a haunting and exhilarating experience. The album was recorded and engineered by Neil Tuuri at the Amish Electric Chair Studio and mastered by Billy Joe Bowers. The striking artwork is by Brian Mercer, with layout by Jacob Dunn.

The band said of their latest work: “This record is the culmination of years of challenges. It is the most complete realization of who we are as a band to date. It contains some of our hardest moments yet, but also some of our most complex and musical. It is simultaneously more focused, but still haunting, aggressive and beautiful.”

Whether you are drawn to the intense storytelling, technical prowess or the sheer energy of their sound, this album will resonate with fans of sludge, doom and progressive metal alike.
