The final of the Red Sox-Blue Jays series was interrupted due to rain and will continue at the end of August

The finale of the series between the Red Sox and the Blue Jays at Fenway Park was suspended on Wednesday due to inclement weather. The contest will resume on Monday, August 26, at 2:05 p.m. at the spot where play was suspended.

It will be part of a split doubleheader.

The game went 1.13 scoreless innings before being called off with Sox starter Kutter Crawford on the mound for the second inning. Crawford struck out two players, walked two and did not allow a single hit. The Black Jays had Davis Schneider on first base after a walk and Danny Jansen was at bat when a delay occurred.

Blue Jays starter Yariel Rodriguez walked Wilyer Abreu, but the Sox remained hitless.

The delay was one hour and 48 minutes.

The Red Sox have Thursday off, but the Blue Jays begin a four-game series against the Yankees in Toronto on Thursday.

The Red Sox will host the Padres for three games. The game begins on Friday at 7:10 p.m. Nick Pivetta will start for the Sox and Randy Vásquez for the Padres.
