FC Barcelona legend demands that the club sign this player

FC Barcelona legend Rivaldo demanded that his former club find a replacement for Robert Lewandowski and will also attack Nico Williams this summer as part of his comments to Betfair.

With the Pole turning 36 in August, Rivaldo pointed out that Barca must “think about a replacement” for his number 9.

“A team like this has to field the best players in the world and that also means keeping an eye on the best players on the market in all positions, including the centre-forward position.

“Lewandowski is a world star, that’s his nature, but we know that age and injuries can sometimes take their toll,” added Rivaldo, who suffered a series of knee injuries himself at the peak of his career and towards the end of it.

Nevertheless, Rivaldo still considers Lewandowski an elite star who he hopes can rest and recover “to be back at his best in Barca’s pre-season.”

“He can still have some good years as a footballer ahead of him. We should not forget that he was even named the best player in the world and that he has a great football history behind him. I just hope that age does not take its toll on him.”

At 16, Barca winger Lamine Yamal is of course much younger than Lewandowski and Rivaldo is a big fan.

“I can only congratulate him. This style of play, this personality… It’s incredible! It’s very difficult to find a player in football who has this character, who plays with this joy. And he does everything with great calm, as if he had a lot of experience. He has a great future and will bring a lot of joy to the fans of FC Barcelona and the national team,” predicted Rivaldo.

Lamine is currently playing for Spain at the European Championships alongside left winger Nico Williams.

In a report by The National Rivaldo believes that arch-rivals Real Madrid have turned to his entourage and that Barca should therefore hit the table and make a “great transfer”.

“Barca should keep an eye on him during this European Championship, depending on his performance. Maybe later there will be more competition to sign him. But for me it would be a great option,” concluded Rivaldo.
