When he made his television debut, Chris weighed 450 pounds and was worried about his health. His own father had died of heart problems when he was young and Chris didn’t want to go down like that.

Chris simply wore the biggest clothes he could find. Now that he has lost so much weight, he is often seen dressed up. Chris recently posted an Instagram story promoting his Cameo service. In the accompanying photos, a slim Chris cuts an impressive figure in his tailored black suit and black cowboy hat. Chris is a proud grandfather and on Easter Sunday Chris posted an adorable photo with his beloved grandchildren, who all appear to be under the age of four. In the photo, the 1000-pound sisters Star beams proudly alongside a caption that reads: “Nothing is better than grandchildren.” The post has 35.1 thousand likes.

Family means everything to Chris. He is happily married to Brittany Combs. In it Chris talks about his lifelong struggle with his weight and describes how obesity negatively impacts mental wellbeing. He also explains how important it is to him to share his story and inspire others to follow their own weight loss journey.

One of the most interesting things about the show is how the Slatons inspire other people who struggle with their weight.

Chris has lost so much weight in such a short period of time and now has excess, loose skin that he wants to have removed. Although he does not like the way the skin looks, the problem goes beyond aesthetic concerns. So much Excess skin is extremely heavy and presents unique health and hygiene challenges. Although the numerous procedures are expensive and come with a variety of potential side effects, Chris is keen to have the surgery. His doctor refused because he wanted Chris to lose more weight before agreeing to the surgery.


Chris isn’t the only Slaton struggling with excess, loose skin after significant weight loss. Amy has lost 120 pounds and had two children since her bariatric surgery, and she has expressed a desire to have the loose skin removed. From her peak weight of 335 kilograms, she has dropped to 129 kilograms, so she is carrying around a lot of skin that she no longer needs.
