Tony Vitello Bonus for Tennessee Baseball College World Series Title

OMAHA, Nebraska – Tony Vitello received a $140,000 bonus for leading Tennessee State baseball to his team’s first national championship.

Vitello’s contract calls for him to receive 40% of his base salary as a bonus if he wins the College World Series. The seventh-year coach has a base salary of $350,000, which makes up part of his $1.5 million annual salary.

He earned the bonus after the Vols won the program’s first national title with a 6-5 win over Texas A&M at Charles Schwab Field on Monday.

The contract gives Vitello a bonus per year based on the team’s highest achievement, which is winning the CWS. He received no bonus for winning the SEC regular season title or the SEC Tournament title.

UT must pay Vitello the bonus within 60 days.
