LSU Baseball signs outfielder Chris Stanfield from Auburn

Another day, another tweet with a tiger emoji from Jay Johnson. As you all know, that’s always good news. The good news is that LSU has signed another talented player out of the transfer portal.

LSU lost Paxton Kling to the transfer portal earlier, but it looks like the Tigers have filled that spot as LSU got Auburn outfielder Chris Stanfield through the portal. Stanfield spent his final two seasons as a starter for the Auburn Tigers and had two productive years.

As a freshman, he finished with a .280 batting average, eight doubles, two triples, three home runs and 22 RBIs. Last season as a sophomore, he finished with a .276 batting average, eight doubles, one triple, four home runs and 25 RBIs.

Stanfield could be in the opening day starting lineup for LSU, as he brings SEC experience and a ton of talent to Baton Rouge. Johnson gave it his all in the portal.
