The Bookseller – Rights – Gallery Books signs Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick’s “moving, funny and heartbreaking” book about dogs

Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster UK, has Dogs (and their people): Stories of healing and hope from the Supervet practice by Professor Noel Fitzpatrick.

Publishing director Holly Harris acquired worldwide rights from Amanda Harris, Global Managing Director at YMU Literary. The “moving, funny and sometimes heartbreaking tribute to our relationship with man’s best friend” will be released in hardcover, e-book and audiobook on October 24.

Fitzpatrick is a world-renowned neuro-orthopedic veterinarian, the founder of Fitzpatrick Referrals in Surrey and is best known as “The Supervet” from the Channel 4 television series of the same name. Other books include How animals saved my life And Listening to the animals (trapezoid).

He said: “In my consulting room, with a dog at our feet, I have seen the very best that humanity has to offer, often in the worst of circumstances. This book is a collection of stories from my practice that show how dogs make us the best people we can be.”

Harris said: “Noel has a unique perspective on the role a dog can play in a family. Through the prism of his practice, he sees people from all walks of life who have one thing in common: true love for their dog. This delightful collection of stories shows us what pure love that is. We are so excited to publish this wonderful book.”
