Sean Schemmel, Goku’s longtime English voice actor, has apparently confirmed that he recorded dialogue for Goku’s transformation into a fourth Super Saiyan in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

We just saw a huge piece of news about Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero at Summer Game Fest (including the first hands-on session that TheGamer was able to attend), but that hasn’t stopped fans from wondering what we’ll learn about the game next. While so many characters are confirmed to be in the game, there’s one unknown that everyone’s been asking about.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is shaping up to be the DBZ game of my dreams

Sparking Zero was already the game I was most looking forward to in 2024…

I’m talking about Dragon Ball GT, of course. Although it’s generally considered the least popular Dragon Ball medium, some of the characters from GT, like Super Saiyan 4 Goku, Vegeta, and Gogeta, are some of the most popular in the entire series. For some time, fans have been wondering if GT would make it into Sparking Zero, which may have just been confirmed.

Goku’s voice actor apparently confirms content for Dragon Ball GT

As Twitter user DBSparkingZERo pointed outSean Schemmel recently participated in a Dragon Ball panel at Anime Riverside where he talked about his work on Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. During the panel, Schemmel noted that one of the most difficult parts of voicing Goku was all the subtle ways he changed his voice for different transformations.

“I didn’t realize that the subtle change in voice for each form would be my downfall later on. And so I kept all of that in mind for Super Saiyan 4, Super Saiyan 3, red hair in God Mode… and it’s all really subtle differences.”

While speaking specifically about his time as a voice actor for Sparking Zero, Schemmel mentioned Goku’s Super Saiyan 4 form, which has not yet been confirmed to appear in the game. With that, Schemmel has seemingly confirmed that GT content will be included in Sparking Zero at some point, which should be very good news for fans.

It’s possible that Schemmel was simply alluding to all of Goku’s different forms, but since he was talking about his time with Sparking Zero, this is the closest thing to a hint that GT characters will appear in the game. Now the only question that remains is whether it will be saved for DLC or included in the base game.
