Law enforcement officials say “multiple people” could face charges in connection with Matthew Perry’s death

A law enforcement source claims that several people have been charged in connection with the death of Friends with Matthew Perry as the star.

After his sudden death in October 2023, the actor was found to have died from the acute effects of ketamine; an autopsy report concluded that it was an accident.

The autopsy revealed that Perry had been undergoing ketamine infusion therapy when he died in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home.

However, Perry’s last known infusion occurred a week and a half before his death, suggesting that the drugs in his body were not related to an infusion.

Although Perry’s death was ruled an accident, authorities launched an investigation in December to determine the source of the ketamine that killed Perry.

In a press release, the LAPD stated: “Based on the medical examiner’s findings, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the United States Postal Inspection Service, has continued its investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Perry’s death.”

Now, a law enforcement source has told People that the investigation is “nearing completion.”

Whether charges will be brought against anyone potentially involved in the case will now be up to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. However, the Attorney General’s Office has not yet commented on the matter.

However, the law enforcement source claimed that police at least believe that “multiple people” should be charged. At this point, it is unclear exactly what type of charges would be filed.

These allegations come after it was revealed last week that police had seized the phone and laptop of an unnamed celebrity in connection with Perry’s death.

A source told In Touch that the celebrity, a woman, was summoned for several interviews as part of the investigation and was “completely cooperative” when approached by police.

When police searched her room, they reportedly confiscated an iPhone and a computer.

The insider explained: “She has hired lawyers and had several meetings with police since they arrived at her rehab home with a search warrant.

“She’s keeping quiet about the situation. But the investigators must have known something to get an arrest warrant and just show up like that.”

“It’s hard to say or know exactly what role she played (in Matthew’s death), but she insists she had nothing to do with it.”

Perry had previously spoken openly about his experiences with drug abuse and repeatedly attempted to quit drugs after his use led to serious health problems.

UNILAD has asked the US Attorney’s Office for comment.
