Death of Matthew Perry: Police investigate several people in connection with the mysterious death | Hollywood
Friends star Matthew Perry died in October last year at the age of 54 from complications of ketamine overdose, according to reports from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. The medical examiner completed his investigation in December, after which the LAPD continued to investigate the causes of Perry’s bathtub death and ketamine overdose. The 54-year-old was found dead, drowned, in his hot tub at his mansion in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Police officials suggest charging many people for Perry’s death
According to PEOPLE, law enforcement officials are at the end of their investigation into the actor’s ketamine death and have suggested that many people are connected to his death. The final decision on whether or not to file charges against multiple suspects will be made by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Initially, it was reported that his death was an accident.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DAE) and the U.S. Postal Inspectorate, investigated the source of the ketamine found in his mansion. The investigation was reported to People magazine in May.

Perry was under ketamine infusion therapy
As People reported, autopsy reports revealed that Perry received ketamine infusion therapy. The drug was prescribed to Perry as part of his depression treatment. During therapy, the patient is given a small amount of ketamine as a dissociative anesthetic.
The actor, best known for his role as Chandler, mentioned his struggle with addiction in his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. In a 2022 interview with PEOPLE, he spoke about his challenges, saying, “I had to wait until I was reasonably safely sober – and away from the active disease of alcoholism and addiction – to write it all down. I was pretty sure it would help people if I did.”
