Hannah Smith was the first to be eliminated (is she missed?)

Hannah Smith from Love Island USA was the first to be expelled from the villa, and It was initially unclear whether the other islanders would miss her warm and uninhibited energy. During the recent reunification ceremony in Love Island USA Season 6, Episode 10, Hannah became single. She was eliminated after being the last woman standing, shortly after Serena Page was chosen by Kordell Beckham. Hannah then had 30 minutes to pack and say goodbye before she had to leave the villa and her new friends behind.

Hannah teamed up with Kendall Washington during Love Island USA Season 6, Episode 1, who seemed to be a harmonious couple until Kendall lost interest in Hannah and left her to get together with Nicole, one of the villa’s newest bombshells. To be fair, Hannah did make Kendall question his feelings for her after she expressed interest in Hakeem White, who she kissed instead of Kendall during the “Vacation Vixens” challenge. After splitting from Kendall, Hannah became the target of Andrea Carmona, Nicole Jacky’s best friend in the villa.

There was some mean girl behavior

Once alone, Hannah tried to get the attention of the villa’s newest bombshell, Miguel Harichi, who almost all of the other women in the villa also found attractive. In Episode 10 Hannah decided it would be wise to train with Miguel in the morning and make him laugh with her basic knowledge of proper form and technique and her general athleticism. Miguel found Hannah’s charm captivating and told her that he enjoyed hearing her call his name as she struggled to keep her composure during the physical challenges.

Andrea and Nicole, on the other hand, didn’t seem to like Hannah’s public interest in Miguel and immediately made this clear to each other. While watching Miguel and Hannah train, Andrea and Nicole were caught laughing together and criticizing Hannahand said it was crazy because that was probably Hannah’s first time training in the villa. Even though Miguel ended up with Liv, Andrea’s comment still felt like a malicious and unnecessary show of solidarity for Nicole’s relationship with Kendall.

Kordell chose Serena instead of Hannah

Did Kordell make the wrong choice?

During the first mating ceremony, no one chose islander Kordell Beckham, but he ultimately did, despite not having much of a connection with her. They eventually split up when Serena decided to pursue other connections, and the other islanders reminded Kordell of this, claiming Serena had “made him dirty” and that Hannah would therefore be the wiser choice. Kordell ignored his friends’ advice and decided to team up with Serena anyway, which may harm his chances of finding true love in the villa.

Although Kordell seemed to overlook Serena’s interest in Miguel, he should have done the same with Hannah, who was also interested in the new bombshell. It’s safe to assume that Serena was only interested in courting Kordell to stay in the mansion, but Kordell was optimistic and concluded that they might have a chance to rekindle their former connection. This didn’t seem to have much to do with Hannah or Kordell’s opinion of her character, but more with Kordell’s pre-existing familiarity with Serena.

Shortly before the reunification ceremony in episode 10, Hannah sat down with Kordell to talk about her fears about the upcoming elimination and admitted that she felt like it would probably happen to her. Kordell assured Hannah that he thought she was very cool, and she seemed grateful for that affirmation, but that didn’t promise a connection that could secure her a spot in the villa in the future. Hannah was prepared for the worst, knowing that Kordell and Miguel had other connections that could prevent her selection at the last moment.

No one wanted to go first, but most of the other women felt secure enough in their relationships to know they weren’t going home. Andrea had Rob, Nicole had Kendall, Leah had Connor, JaNa had Hakeem, and Kaylor had Aaron, winner of The traitors Great Britain Season 1. Since the match between Liv and Miguel came as a surprise and the match between Kordell and Serena was the final deciding factor, Hannah didn’t seem surprised by the turn of events. She kept her composure and acted with dignity and confidence when it became clear that she was leaving.

When it was announced that Hannah would be eliminated, she received a text message saying: “Hannah, you’re single and that’s why you’ve been kicked out of the villa. You have 30 minutes to pack your things and say goodbye #GoneGirl.” After Hannah read the text aloud, the islanders quickly jumped up from their seats, ran to her and expressed their condolences, many of them in tears. Leah in particular seemed heartbroken over the loss of the villa, having grown very close to Hannah during their time on the show.

Hannah’s former partner Kendall said she was one of the coolest girls he had ever met and everyone in the villa adored her. JaNa followed Kendall’s example and said Hannah’s departure was devastating because she brought an energy to the villa that everyone will miss greatly. Even Andrea and Nicole seemed disappointed when Hannah danced one last time for all the girls in her make-up room. So in the end, it was clear that Hannah’s presence on Love Island USA will be missed.
