The online game is also playable on Nintendo Switch via a cloud version in Japan and Xbox One in the rest of the world.

Line Strike – out July 10th

Line Strike will be released as a card game within the online RPG. Most of the cards in this game are based on characters from the original PSO2 story, which took place 1,000 years before New Genesis. Players can obtain new cards by obtaining scratch cards by completing in-game tasks or through paid packages.

They can challenge not only other players, but also the game’s existing NPCs. Additionally, Creative Spaces allow players to access the card game through a Build Part set that includes a pair of chairs and a table to place the cards on. Sega will also be setting up an official Creative Space dedicated to hosting these card game matches.

As with the rest of the main game, the card characters are voiced in both Japanese and English. You can compare the voices with the trailers available below.

MARS – Released on July 31st

MARS is short for “Multirole Arks Reactive System” and appears in the form of a large machine that floats around the player’s avatar. Fans of mecha anime series may remember the METEOR from the Gundam SEED series or the Dendrobium Orchis from Gundam 0083, while followers of the Phantasy Star series will remember the SUV weapons that appeared in Phantasy Star Universe.

An interview with Dengeki, also available in English, revealed some of the features players can expect from this new weaponry. There will be 4 main weapon types and 3 sub-weapons, and each player will be able to equip 2 main weapons and 1 sub-weapon at the same time. The new trailer revealed that the main weapon parts are the sword-like Garmthe scythe-like NidhöggrThe Scylla on which the player can ride, and the Hydra Ray gun.

In addition, it was also revealed in the interview that players who have completed the first chapter of the story will be able to use MARS. There will be a new energy gauge for the weapon that gradually fills itself and that the player can activate when the gauge is at least 25% full. Daiki Hamazaki claimed that the gauge will fill in 9 minutes under normal circumstances and will be emptied if used continuously for 2 minutes.

MARS will also feature a voice cast by Yoshino Aoyama for the Japanese version and Brenna Larsen for the English version. You can find the new trailers below.
