Michigan State Football is on guard with 3-star DB Aydan West

Guys, Jonathan Smith just won’t let up. While his first recruiting class for the Michigan State football team won’t blow anyone away, he’s bringing in guys that fit his system.

And those are the types of players that have helped Michigan State succeed under Mark Dantonio. You have to build a solid foundation with guys who will stick before you target the big fish. And that’s exactly what Smith has done over the last few months.

The class of 2025 has really picked up speed since April. At the beginning of the spring there were no confirmations, now there are 10, and there may be another one on Tuesday evening.

In fact, three-star cornerback Aydan West — who was just on campus — announced that he would make his decision Tuesday night and that he could choose between a handful of programs, including Michigan State.

West will make a decision between Wake Forest, Duke, Cincinnati, Virginia, Wake Forest and Michigan State on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET, according to his Twitter. And if you’re into crystal ball predictions, the Spartans seem to be the clear favorites here.

Michigan State has been receiving a lot of Crystal Globes in recent days and it looks like the Spartans have the upper hand. The timing is also fitting as West was just on his official visit to East Lansing this past weekend and it was obviously his last scheduled trip of the summer.

The Spartans will keep an eye on the No. 91 cornerback from Gaithersburg, Maryland, when it comes to signing the class of 2025, which is expected to grow to 11 on Tuesday.
