Kansas City Chiefs and Hallmark team up for Christmas film

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Christmas came early for Chiefs Kingdom.

On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs and Hallmark announced that they are partnering to produce a Christmas movie to be released during the holiday season.

The film, titled “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” will premiere during Hallmark’s 15th annual Countdown to Christmas programming event.

Production on the film is set to begin next month and will star Hallmark actors Tyler Hynes, Hunter King and Ed Begley Jr.

The film will be shot entirely in Kansas City, Missouri, including at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Hallmark said the film will tell the love story between a Chiefs superfan named Alana Higman, who hopes to win Fan of the Year, and an NFL employee named Derrick, who is tasked with selecting the fan.

“We are honored to partner with Hallmark on such a unique project,” said Chiefs President Mark Donovan. “As a club, we pride ourselves on exploring new ways to grow our brand and reach new audiences. This partnership brings together two passionate fan bases and gives us the opportunity to showcase the energy and tradition of Chiefs Kingdom on one of the most watched channels during the holiday season.”

There is no exact release date for the film yet.

However, Hallmark said plans for game day activations, co-branded items and other promotions are in the works.

Last January, the Kansas City Chiefs and Hallmark collaborated on a promotional trailer for a feature film called “Falling for Football,” starring Hynes.
