“We just finished filming,” Newsboys bassist Adam Agee told Crosswalk Headlines. “It’s really exciting.”

“New song, new movie. God is not dead: We trust in God hits theaters September 12th and you can hear our brand new song ‘In God We Trust’ on July 19th when #worldwiderevival drops,” the band wrote in an Instagram post announcing the new release.

“We are thrilled to be working with our GND film family again and can’t wait for you to see more of what we’ve been working on,” the band added.

The Newsboys have had 35 songs on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart since the 1980s and have had 33 No. 1 radio hits.

Many of the band’s younger fans know them primarily for their hits from the God is not dead Movies. Their first music release as part of the franchise was titled “God’s Not Dead” and is featured in the 2014 film of the same name. However, the song was actually released two years before the film.

The second film in the series, God is not dead: A light in the darknesscontained the song “Guilty” by the Newsboys. Both films featured a concert by the band.

The new album by the Newsboys, Worldwide revival, will be a two-part album.

A song on the album entitled “Heaven on Earth” has already been viewed around 1 million times on YouTube.

The band’s goal with the album is to “spark a revival everywhere we go,” Agee told Crosswalk.

Next summer the Newsboys will go on their Worldwide Revival Nights tour.

“The crowd gives you energy and you know that everybody out there is going through something in their life,” Agee told the Crosswalk. “That’s why we listen to Christian music – to hopefully be uplifted and point to the King. And so it just never gets old.”

When asked what advice he would give to Christians living in a dark culture, the band’s lead singer Michael Tait told Crosswalk, “Keep doing what you’re doing. Don’t fret, don’t be afraid. That won’t help you one bit. God is in control – we either believe it or we don’t.”

Tait said he has high expectations as the band’s frontman and hopes the band can continue to maintain their faith in God.

In a previous interview with The Christian Post, Tait said, “God is a man’s tug. He will not force His way into our lives. He will make it clear to us that He will pursue us relentlessly with His hand on our heels.”

“Your arms are too short to box with God. You want to give up and say, ‘Lord, I don’t know what’s going on, I don’t know what’s going on tomorrow, I don’t know if I’m going to make it through. But I know one thing is certain and constant, and that is You, because You are the same every day, yesterday and tomorrow.'”

In his interview with CP, Tait said he believes that God wants to be there for people in difficult situations and help them through these difficulties.

“When times get tough and rough, … it’s not like you run around it. You just have to go through it. God will take you through it, because through it you will gain strength, you will gain power, you will gain joy, because the joy of the Lord is your strength,” Tait exclaimed.

“You will learn not to moan and groan at every opportunity and realize that God has a plan for the whole thing. But first you have to know where you stand.”
