Travis Kelce remembers his love affair with Taylor Swift and talks about his relationship

Travis Kelce talks about his relationship with Taylor Swift and when he started falling in love with the superstar.

During his appearance on the latest episode of Barstool Sports Kissing with the boys In the podcast released on June 25 (recorded on June 19), the Kansas City Chiefs tight end talked about the beginning of their relationship, the media storm that followed, and what he admires about the singer-songwriter.

“Nobody really knew what was going on. We kept it between ourselves as best we could,” he explained, adding that things changed when Swift attended a Kansas City Chiefs game.

He recalled how she attended her first Chiefs game and he told her he could help her arrange security, but she just “walked through the front door.” “That really sold me on her,” Kelce said, recalling that Swift “wanted to be with family and friends and experience this with everyone.”

“She’s very confident. She understands these situations. And I think that’s why I really fell in love with her, because she’s so genuine with friends and family. It can get crazy for someone with so much attention, and she just stays so relaxed and calm. I can definitely admire that,” he said.

Despite Swift being in the media spotlight all the time, Kelce explained that he is still “proud” of his relationship and is able to maintain his privacy while being open about the fact that they are a couple: “You want to keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything. That’s my girl, you know what I mean? That’s my wife. It’s like I’m proud of it. So I’m not sitting here trying to juggle how to keep that under wraps. You just don’t want to be able to let everybody in on your private life and comment on it when you know that everything she does is making headlines.”

Reflecting further on the attention, Kelce said that “it’s a different audience than the NFL” and it was “cool to kind of get involved in that and see their following.” He added, “The Chiefs fans have become a lot of their fans or their fans have become Chiefs fans. I’ve had fun with almost every aspect of it. It’s just that when you’re at home, you want your privacy and you don’t always get that.”

Last weekend, Swift and Kelce surprised everyone when Kelce performed in London during Swift’s Eras Tour. During the performance at London’s Wembley Stadium, Swift brought her boyfriend along during a performance of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

Afterwards, Swift reflected on the show on Instagram, writing, “The first round at Wembley was so surreal. Looking out into a crowd of 90,000 fans every night and hearing that VOLUME… Those were some of the loudest crowds I’ve ever heard. The acoustic parts went GO. I got to sing ‘Castles Crumbling’ with @yelyahwilliams for the first time – I hadn’t performed with her since 2011 and man, my heart was just so full of love for her and our friendship. Then the incredibly talented and wonderful @gracieabrams came on and surprised the crowd with the first performance of our song ‘us.'”

Swift wrote of Kelce’s performance: “And I’m still laughing my head off/blowing over @killatrav’s debut on the Eras Tour. I’ll never forget these shows.”

Kelce has been a regular on Swift’s tour, which he described as “electrifying.” “She’s having fun up there, so I get to enjoy seeing her in her element, killing it on stage. I love the show. It’s got bangers,” Kelce said on the podcast.

“I started really listening to Taylor’s music when she came out with 1989,” said the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. “I knew who she was before, we were the same age, so I knew who Taylor was through high school and everything else, and she was kind of starting her career.”

When Kelce was asked to rank his three favorite Swift songs, he chose the “banger” “Blank Space” as number one, “Cruel Summer” as second choice and “So High School” as third because the song has a “sentimental meaning” and is about himself.

“You know how to hit balls, I know Aristotle,” Kelce said with a smile, referring to the lyrics.
