Travis Kelce remembers how Taylor Swift made him fall in love with her

Last September, the internet nearly exploded when Taylor Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game, unofficially confirming her then-rumored romance with Travis Kelce. And although the couple later explained that they had been dating for weeks before that first public appearance, the tight end revealed that the pop star’s first backstage appearance at Arrowhead Stadium was still a major turning point in their relationship.

“The first game she came to against the Bears, I thought, ‘I could probably give you anything,’” Kelce recalled on a Kissing with the boys podcast episode released Tuesday (June 25). “And she just walked through the front door. She couldn’t go down and talk to security… She just said, ‘I want to be with my family and friends and experience this with everyone.'”

“She got a lot of points for that,” he continued. “I thought, ‘Damn, she’s in the thick of it. She wants to be there, she wants to support me.’ She really won me over with that.”

“That’s why I really fell in love with her – how genuine she is with friends and family,” Kelce added. “So much attention can drive you crazy, but she’s so laid back.”

Swift will support the Ohio native at games throughout the 2023-24 season, leading up to the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory in February. Kelce is now returning the favor by attending the “Anti-Hero” singer’s Eras Tour concerts across Europe, most recently making an adorable cameo on stage at her show in London over the weekend.

“I love the show, man – it’s got bangers,” said the New heights The host raved on the podcast before naming his three favorite Swift songs: “Blank Space,” “Cruel Summer,” and “So High School,” proudly citing the inspiration for the song.

“It has a bit of a sentimental meaning,” he said of the latter song, which appears on Swift’s Billboard 200-topping hit. The “Tortured Poets” section“‘You know how to play, I know Aristotle,’ man.”

Before putting the topic of his superstar girlfriend aside, Kelce also explained why he’s so open about his and Swift’s love story. “You want to keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything,” he said. “That’s my girl. That’s my wife. I’m proud of that. I’m not sitting here trying to juggle, ‘How can I keep this a secret?'”
