All Whites captain Chris Wood has tied the knot, marrying his partner Emma in a lavish ceremony on Italy’s Amalfi Coast.

Wood, 32, will miss New Zealand’s Oceania Nations Cup because he plans to get married before resuming his English Premier League duties with Nottingham Forest in August.

In a post on Instagram, Emma Wood (née Lovell) shared a photo from the couple’s wedding with the caption “Mr. and Mrs. Wood.”

All Whites defender Tommy Smith was also present as Woods’ best man after he signed his contract with Auckland FC for the coming season.

Wood has just completed his best season to date at Nottingham Forest, where he scored 14 goals to keep his team in the Premier League.

The Kiwi’s teammates were quick to react to his wedding.

“Congratulations to you both,” wrote midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

“Incredible!!! Congratulations guys,” added Anthony Elanga.

Nottingham Forest’s official account said “Congratulations”.

In Woods’ absence, the All Whites opened their Oceania Nations Cup campaign earlier this week with a 3-0 win over the Solomon Islands.
