Grandson charged with manslaughter in Hickory Hill

Grandson charged with manslaughter in Hickory Hill

A 32-year-old Hickory Hills man was charged Saturday with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his grandfather, Dean L. Faulk.

Faulk was found dead in his Hickory Hills home on Friday, and the Cook County coroner’s office said he had numerous stab wounds.

His grandson, Dean J. Faulk, who also lived in the house, struck his grandfather several times on the head and neck with an axe, according to the indictment in Cook County Criminal Court. Judge Antara Nath Rivera ordered the grandson to remain in custody pending trial on Sunday.

Prosecutors said the men did not get along and the grandson suffered from anger issues. He was seen on a Ring camera entering and leaving the house. He later returned to the house but left when he saw police, prosecutors said in a court filing.

Dean J. Faulk is scheduled to appear in court again on Tuesday.
