Senator Taylor sets up hotline for information on District Attorney Mulroy

Senator Brent Taylor of Tennessee and District Attorney Steve Mulroy

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – State Senator Brent Taylor has set up a hotline so that people who have had negative experiences with the prosecutor’s office can confidentially share information.

Taylor said he set up the line so crime victims and current and former employees could share their experiences with Mulroy.

The number to call or text is 901-501-5079. Interested parties can also email [email protected].

Taylor said the names will be kept confidential and any relevant information will be passed on to legal counsel for inclusion in the dismissal agreement.

Earlier this month, Taylor wrote in a letter to Lieutenant Governor Randy McNally that he would file a joint resolution in the Senate to remove Mulroy from office. The resolution would be filed immediately after the November election, he said.

The reasons cited against Mulroy will include “breach of duty due to failure to prosecute convicted felons in possession of a firearm,” the letter states.
