Why? Paige VanZant explains Power Slap signing: “I love being violent”

Paige VanZant will make her Power Slap debut on June 28th and the whole world is wondering…why???

VanZant left the UFC in 2020 with a 5-4 record and went 0-2 at Bare Knuckle FC. But the only numbers that really matter are her OnlyFans numbers, which have earned her a huge pile of money over the past few years. Paige was one of the first crossover stars to break out on OnlyFans, and the money she makes in combat sports is a piece of cake in comparison.

So why is she showing up at Power Slap 8 in Las Vegas this Friday? “12 Guage” explains in a new promo video on the UFC’s YouTube channel.

“When I first saw Power Slap, I was like, ‘Holy shit, this is crazy!'” VanZant said. “When I see something that’s crazy and exciting, I immediately want to do it. I’m definitely an adrenaline junkie and have been since I was a kid. I grew up dancing and was a cheerleader, but I like the thrill in life. I love competing, I love being violent and this is literally the epitome of being a dog.”

She is also excited to add another jewel to her Infinity Gauntlet competition.

“Another martial art,” she said, laughing. “MMA, boxing, bare-knuckle boxing, pro wrestling… power slap!”

VanZant obviously likes to mix things up, and she learned early on that showing up in new and unexpected places helps her go viral with new fans. She did it on the cooking show Chopped, she did it on Dancing With The Stars, and she did it in bare-knuckle boxing. BKFC was a wild choice, but it was also a smart one: She garnered a ton of attention when she decided to compete in the toughest new combat sport around.

And now she does it again with Power Slap.

So is Dana White spending big bucks to get Paige? She’s undoubtedly making a few bucks more than the average floozy. But as always, most of that money will come through her OnlyFans page, which needs exactly the attention that Power Slap’s extremely viral content will bring.

By 2023, posts on VanZant’s VIP OnlyFans page were generating 1500 to 3000 likes each. In 2024, that dropped to 500 to 1000, and now they’re at 200 to 500. Will those numbers skyrocket again due to interest in her Power Slap debut? VanZant is no doubt hoping so. But if she’s basing her expectations on Dana White’s slightly inflated claims, she might be disappointed.
