Camila Cabello once received the best advice from Queen Taylor Swift.
During an interview with 11-year-old influencer Taylen Biggs, the “Señorita” singer was asked what the best advice another celebrity had ever given her was, and she dug up the best anecdote from her time in Fifth Harmony.
Cabello recalled attending the VMAs with her group when she was 16 or 17 (so in 2013 or 2014) and seeing Swift hanging out with Lorde across the room.
Cabello knew she had to reach out to her “songwriting hero,” so she approached the two women. “They were both so sweet,” she said. “At the time, I was really starting to get interested in writing, in songwriting. I was having a hard time getting out of that creative rut, and I thought, who should I ask about songwriting? Taylor Swift.”

The former Fifth Harmony participant recalled asking her, “Hey, what would you say if you were having a lot of self-doubt and feeling a little stuck?”
Swift, she said, told her, “If this happens to me, just keep writing while it’s happening. You just have to keep going, keep writing while it’s happening. Keep going.”
Cabello liked the advice so much that she applies it to everything in life. “And that applies to everything, right?” she said. “It’s like, keep dancing, keep doing interviews, keep learning, keep painting. When you feel those voices of self-doubt, just keep going and you’ll find yourself on the other side.”
Beautiful, perfect, no notes.
The relationship between Cabello and Swift did not end there: The “Bam Bam” singer continued to perform as the opening act for the “Fortnight” singer on most of her Call Tour in 2018, and the two also performed together at the 2019 American Music Awards alongside pop artist Halsey.
Honestly, I never get tired of women supporting women.
