Three more players have officially left Baskonia. On Tuesday, Maik Kotsar, Chris Chiozza and Jordan Theodore were released due to expiring contracts.

Kotsar, 27, has spent the last two years with the Vitoria-Gasteiz-based team. The Estonian center joined the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and has made 73 appearances over the last two seasons. In the latest edition of Europe’s premier club competition, he averaged 5.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.7 steals per game in 39 games played, 29 of which were starts.

Chiozza, 28, started 47 games after joining the Basque club in November. In his EuroLeague debut, the former Florida star averaged 1.9 points, 2.5 assists and 1.0 rebounds per game in 26 appearances.

Theodore, 34, signed with Baskonia in January. He returned to the EuroLeague after making 23 appearances in the 2017/18 season with AX Armani Exchange Milan, averaging 3.5 points per game in 12 appearances.

When Dani Diez left Baskonia on Thursday, his contract also expired. At the beginning of the season break, head coach Dusko Ivanovic ended his fourth term at the club.

Last season, the team from Vitoria-Gasteiz finished eighth in the EuroLeague regular season with an 18-16 record. A three-game win over Real Madrid in the Play-In Showdown secured them a place in the playoffs and ended the continental season.

With an 18-16 record in the regular season of the Spanish Liga Endesa, Baskonia finished ninth in the table and missed the playoffs of the national league.
