Chris Hemsworth says working with his wife Elsa Pataky on Furiosa was like a “date night”
Spoilers for “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” follow.
Chris Hemsworth has admitted that working with his wife Elsa Pataky on his new film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga was like “date night.”
The Marvel star takes on the role of warlord Dementus in the new “Mad Max” prequel, while Elsa has two roles in the film – one as a Vulvalini general and then as Mr. Norton, a member of Dementus’ crew.
Speaking to E! News, Hemsworth revealed that the collaboration also meant some “time for herself” without her three children.

“It’s kind of like a date night for us because we have three kids,” he said. “When we go to work together, we have time for ourselves.”
The actor added that they “spent a lot of time together,” which was “cool,” and that their children were also able to spend some time on set.
“They were on set a lot,” he recalled. “They looked behind the curtain and knew the tricks. Nothing was really shocking to them.”
“Furiosa” focuses on the younger version of the title character, originally played by Charlize Theron in 2015’s “Mad Max: Fury Road,” with Anya Taylor-Joy taking over the role.

Recently I spoke with Digital SpyHemsworth praised Taylor-Joy, saying, “She had the right attitude and mindset and the enthusiasm and passion to create something that was not an imitation, but her own interpretation of the character.”
“The two characters are at very different stages of their lives and in very different roles, one is being mythologized and the other is in the process of building it.
“Anya was just incredible. I don’t think there are many people in the world who can tell such a long story with so much depth and nuance, with so much subtlety and such a broad perspective.”
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga hits theaters on May 24.
