“Stuff The British Stole” is adapted as a script for a robbery on television

EXCLUSIVE: The British Stolethe Australian-Canadian documentary series about the effects of British colonialism, is being re-released as a six-part script for a robbery.

Anchuli Felicia King, who works for HBO’s The sympathizer And The baby And Deadhole for Prime Video, creates and writes the series, which airs in Australia and is touted by producers as “an exploration of the nuanced debate around repatriation through an astute lens.”

Ben Chessell (The great, Giri Haji, Doctor Who) will direct and write episodes, along with Kacie Anning (Graduation class of 2007, Upload, The other type) and award-winning First Nations author and playwright Dylan Van Den Berg are also on the creative team.

The Australian indie band Wooden Horse Disney+ series The Gladeis co-producer with Warner Bros International Television Production (WBITVP) Australia, known for productions such as The Twelvein which King participated, and Love me. Jude Troy of Wooden Horse and Finlayson of Richard are executive producers alongside Michael Brooks and Hamish Lewis of WBITVP. Marc Fennell, who created the original The British Stoleis also an executive producer.

The British Stole explores the controversy surrounding artifacts stolen during the heyday of the British Empire and will air in Canada on CBC and in Australia on ABC in 2022. The series features contributions from the likes of Stephen Fry and a second season premiered last week on June 17. We hear a third season of the series – from Wooden Horse, WildBear Entertainment and Cream Productions – is in the pipeline.

The one-hour drama adaptation is also in development. According to the producers, it will be “a provocative and sharply observed deep dive into the complexities of history and identity in our modern world through an irreverent and wryly humorous lens.”

“Under the direction of Anchuli Felicia King, the writing team, along with assistant director Ben Chessell, have developed a unique cast of diverse and fascinating characters who almost accidentally become heroes of a global repatriation movement,” they added in a statement. “In doing so, they find themselves not only on the run, but also in the midst of a multi-government political shitstorm.

“If there is one thing we can learn from the brilliant The British Stole “The point of a reality series is that the story is complex – a lesson our characters will learn the hard way.”

Former eOne executive Troy and former ABC television boss Finlayson launched Wooden Horse in 2019. The series won several awards at the Screen Producers Australia Awards, including Breakthrough Business of the Year and Miniseries Production of the Year for the Disney+ series. The Glade.

WBITVP Australia is known for binge series Love me and Foxtel thriller dramas The Twelveand has recently started production of How to prepare saucethe film adaptation of the Paul Kelly song that we first told you about in October last year. The latter will be the first film from the streamer Binge.
