Sir Elton John is a fan of Chappell Roan: “I love her”

It’s Chappell Roan’s world and we just live in it. Even Sir Elton John proved with a recent Instagram post that he is a fan of Chappell Roan.

After years of working in the music industry – including as a singer for Olivia Rodrigo’s album – the queer singer-songwriter is finally getting the recognition she deserves.

The “Pink Pony Club” star called herself “your favorite artist’s favorite artist” (a reference to drag performer Sasha Colby’s quote, “I’m your favorite drag queen’s favorite drag queen”) – and it’s easy to see why.

The singer of the hit “Good Luck, Babe!” has been covered by the likes of Sabrina Carpenter and even received praise from Ariana Grande for her Statue of Liberty costume at the Governors Ball in New York.

Now, the famed singer-songwriter of “Rocket Man (I Think It’s Going To Be A Long, Long Time)” has succumbed to the genius of Roan’s synth-pop sound and drag queen-inspired performance.

On June 24, the legendary musician shared a glimpse of his dinner plans with his fellow pop star on Instagram.

“The BEST night of pizza and hearty laughter with the incredibly fabulous @chappellroan,” he wrote.

“Love her, love her, love her,” concluded Sir Elton.

The pop icon then shared her post on her Instagram story, thanking the star once again “for coming to dinner” – honestly, we just wish we had been invited.

Sir Elton’s husband David Furnish and Roan’s musical partner Dan Nigro were also in attendance. Furnish posted a picture of the quartet on his own Instagram story.

As for Sir Elton’s upcoming projects, an album of “incredibly personal” new songs is in the works, according to Bernie Taupin, his long-time songwriting partner.

However, Taupin has assured his fans that the work will certainly not be Sir Elton’s last release, even though he has just completed his 49th and final tour. Farewell, Yellow Brick Road trip on July 8, 2023.

He told Sky News: “It’s a pretty amazing project, very cool… it tells a lot of stories and is incredibly personal, but it’s certainly not definitive.”

“It’s all done, everything is in the can and ready to come out, I think by the end of this year.”

Sir Elton John has not yet announced an album name or release date.
