First trailer for the 12th season of “Futurama” brings the whole crew back together

The second favorite in the world Matt Groening animated project, Futuramamade a surprise return to screens in 2023 with season 11 and its unexpected success gave the green light for a twelfth season. This highly anticipated twelfth season has just been given a teaser, which, although short, features some of the industry’s best voice actors announcing the series’ upcoming return. The teaser, captioned “It’s the start of a new season of Futurama! Join our beloved cast and watch the new season on July 29, streaming exclusively on Hulu,” features Bender’s voice. John DiMaggioLeela’s Katey Sagalthe voice of Amy Wong, Lauren Tomand many others showcase their singing talent as they announce the return of the show.

After season 11 ended on September 25, 2023, it didn’t take long for an update to be released in November, confirming that the series return not just for one, but for two more series. It has been confirmed that this Futurama until 2026, meaning the show’s loyal fanbase can rest assured that their most beloved animated characters will be around for a while. Season 12 is set to debut on July 29 and will be available to stream exclusively on Hulu.

Hulu’s unexpected reboot of “Futurama” was a surprising success

One of most popular animated series of the 21st centurythe abolition of Futurama in 2003 was met with confusion and frustration, and Comedy Central revived the series in 2009. Unfortunately, this revival only lasted until 2013, when the franchise was once again left in the dust. Not surprisingly, the same calls for the series to return in 2003 were heard again in 2013 and remained until the show was eventually picked up by Hulu. quickly became one of the streamer’s most popular titles. In this Hulu reboot, the show went back to basics, with the witty brand of comedy that made the original episodes so popular returning in full force. This was not without urgently needed update for some characters and relationships, much to the admiration of the audience.

Positive praise for the reboot came from both the public and critics, highlighted by Collider’s Nate RichardWHO said in his review:

“Much like the recent revival of Beavis and Butt-Head, the new season of Futurama is the perfect example of how to bring back an animated series in a way that appeals to new audiences while still pleasing those who have been with it from the beginning. It knows that it doesn’t have to rely on flashy guest appearances or age up the characters or bring in a variety of celebrity voices. The passion the Futurama team feels for these characters and this world is palpable in every single moment of these new episodes. Some of the jokes feel a little dated and don’t quite land, but overall it’s a strong return to a beloved series.”
