The trade-in value of the Galaxy Watch 6 is currently limited to $100

The trade-in value of the Galaxy Watch 6 is currently limited to 0

Trade-ins are one of the best ways to save when buying a new Samsung device, but if you were looking to upgrade to a Galaxy Watch 6, some of the best deals are suddenly no longer available.

You can often find good trade-in deals for a new Samsung device on Samsung.com. For example, Samsung has been offering an “Any Smartwatch, Any Condition” trade-in offer for the Galaxy Watch 6 for a few weeks now, where users can trade in a broken smartwatch or just one from any brand for at least $100. This offer is still available as of June 24.

But suddenly that’s all you can get out of a smartwatch.

If you want to trade in a Galaxy Watch 6, the trade-in value is currently capped at $100 at Samsung.com. No matter what you trade in, that’s the absolute maximum value you can get right now. If a device is worth more than $100, like a current Galaxy Watch or Apple Watch, Samsung simply doesn’t offer a trade-in option.

This seems to be limited to just the Galaxy Watch 6, and specifically its 40mm variant. When trading in for a 44mm size, the trade-in cap increases to $150 if you trade in a Galaxy Watch 4 or an Apple Watch Series 6. If you trade in for a Watch 6 Classic, the values behave normally, coming in at $250 if you trade in a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro or an Apple Watch Series 8.

Most likely, this is just a temporary restriction or a bug, but it is certainly unfortunate for anyone who wants to take advantage of the current discounts.

Meanwhile, Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra in a few weeks.
