Joetown Rocks concert with Top Voice candidate

(KNSI) – There is no better way to celebrate Independence Day than with the most American form of entertainment: good old rock ‘n’ roll.

The annual Joetown Rocks Festival will take place on July 3rd and 4th. The Killer Vees will, of course, be there. Co-chair Bruce Bechtold tells KNSI that a major national act has also been added to the lineup.

“I think our big headliner and the most exciting thing is that we’re going to have Chris Kroeze here. He was runner-up on The Voice and he was a really big hit.”

Born in small-town Wisconsin, Kroeze brings his sensibilities to both country and rock music and holds the record as the most-streamed “Voice” contestant in the show’s 13-year history.

There will be plenty of food stall options. Gates open at 5pm and the concert line-up includes St. Joseph Catholic School Choir, Leslie Vincent, Kroeze and The Killer Vees. A fireworks display follows at 10.15pm. Performances are free.

It starts with a bang, and the second day ensures that the festival ends with anything but a whimper. Bechtold goes through the program of Independence Day activities.

“The Lions Club will be holding a large parade down Minnesota Street starting at 10:00 a.m. The church bells will ring to start the parade and the celebration will continue. All food and drink vendors and game vendors will be open until three o’clock.”

There will also be a bingo and a quilt auction. Photos of the entries are already on the Event website.

Joetown Rocks is St. Joseph Parish’s largest annual fundraiser. The festival takes place on the grounds of the church, which is located at the corner of Minnesota Street and College Avenue.
