KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) – South Indian playback singer, songwriter and music director Pradeep Kumar is all set to rock the stage along with 24 versatile classical musicians at the ‘Naan Pradeep Kumar’ concert at the Axiata Arena on Saturday (June 29) at 7pm.

The 38-year-old artist, who has performed in Malaysia for three consecutive years, is the first South Indian singer to work with a large group of versatile classical musicians in the country.

Pradeep said he was excited to share the stage with the Datuk Mus Quartet and Friends on a larger scale this year.

“In my previous concerts in 2022 and 2023, I performed with the Datuk Mus Quartet, but this time I am so excited to share the stage with 24 classical musicians,” he told Bernama here today.

“The love and support I receive from my Malaysian fans is overwhelming and I believe this concert would be a perfect gift for them as it would be a symphony fusion,” he told Bernama here today.

He added that the upcoming concert would be both a visual and an acoustic treat for his fans.

The concert will also feature other talents from India such as Anthony Daasan, Kalyani Nair, Rithu Vysakh, Ashwin Suresh, Shallu Varun, Amrit, Bharath Sankar, Jhanu Chanthar and Tapass Naresh.

Meanwhile, S. Vinoth Kumar, co-founder of concert organiser Aakaar Foundation, said this year’s concert will be different from previous ones as it will feature a wayang kulit performance as the opening act.

“It is an initiative of the Foundation for the Promotion of Arts (Wayang Kulit),” he said.

Vinoth said 10,000 fans are expected to attend the concert.

At the same time, the foundation also focuses on sustainability by reducing the use of plastics of any kind during the concert.

Pradeep’s first foray into the world of singing was in the 2010 Tamil film ‘Enthiran’, for which he sang the soundtrack composed by AR Rahman.

Till date, Pradeep has sung over 100 songs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.
