Julien Baker’s Orphan Black: Echoes theme song: Listen

In February, Boygenius received six nominations for the 2024 Grammys and won three of them. That’s probably something fans won’t see from the popular supergroup of Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus in a while. Fans reported that Boygenius told the audience at a February 1 acoustic show in Los Angeles that they planned to “go away for the foreseeable future.”

But that doesn’t mean that Bridgers, Baker or Dacus won’t remain productive individually. Case in point: Baker just released “The Lengths,” the title track for Orphan Black: Echoesa Orphan Black Spin-off series that premiered on Sunday, June 23 on AMC, AMC+ and BBC America.

Recorded with Calvin Lauber, Baker’s longtime engineer, the haunting song features Baker’s layered vocals delivering a painful, yearning message: “Do you really want to know how much? / How far I would go to touch even the smallest parts of you?”

Created by Anna Fishko, Orphan Black: Echoes starring Krysten Ritter as Lucy. The official synopsis from AMC reads: “Despite a childhood she can’t remember, Lucy has found peace. But when a man from her past resurfaces, Lucy’s life is thrown into disarray. After Lucy and her adopted family flee in search of answers, she meets a woman who only raises more questions.”
