Copper Harbor Trails Club completes new Berry Picker Trail

Copper Harbor Trails Club completes new Berry Picker Trail

Summer is in full swing and mountain bikers are already enjoying the Copper Harbor trail network. This summer, the Copper Harbor Trails Club will add a new, challenging trail to the group’s vast network. Berry Picker Trails rises up the club’s list and is another fun option for cyclists and visitors.

The new trail begins at the base of The Flow, quickly passes two junctions, and leads to the beginning and end of the Daisy Dukes Trail. After crossing Brockway Mountain Drive, Berry Picker continues up the hill to your desired destination. The top of the Brockway overlooks the top of The Flow Trail. The new route also helps reduce the chance of two traffic accidents along the trail by bypassing narrow sections of The Flow Trail.

The Copper Harbor Trails Club used funds from the Visit Keweenaw Destination Development Program to develop the trail. The Trail Club also thanks the Grant Township Board of Trustees and the Keweenaw County Road Commission for their assistance with the project plans. The club asks drivers to exercise caution on the new path while the club works to install signage in the area.
