Your support helps us advance our political coverage • Oklahoma Voice

Dear readers:

Can you believe Oklahoma Voice just finished its coverage of the first legislative session?

Over the past four months, our reporters have spent countless hours sitting through budget negotiations. We covered the end of a University of Oklahoma program that helped women enter politics. We wrote about the launch of the private school tax credit program. We filed a lawsuit so you can get answers about why a state board mysteriously paid a former employee more than $169,000 to quit. We continued to write about the ongoing strained relationship between our governor and the tribes.

And just last week we wrote about surprises in the general election and some of the shake-ups that lie ahead after the primaries.

Without your support we couldn’t have done it.

Thanks to your donations, we were able to pay a freelance photographer to attend nightly watch parties during the primaries for U.S. Rep. Tom Cole and wealthy challenger Paul Bondar (Cole won) and to shoot images of Gov. Kevin Stitt’s State of the State address in February.

But our work is not done with the final ruling. In the meantime, we will keep an eye on our legislators, the upcoming elections, and our state boards and commissions. We will study how the new laws – and there are many – are being implemented.

If you enjoyed our coverage of the Oklahoma Legislature and state government, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us continue to build the quality journalism you expect. Every little bit helps.

As always, thank you for your continued support and for being a reader.
