One of Bob Marley’s most famous albums returns to the charts

Bob Marley can always be found on several Billboard Charts with the release that has turned out to be his biggest ever. The reggae powerhouse Legend: The best of Bob Marley and the Wailers performs well enough in the US each week to appear on many lists, but there is one list on which Marley sometimes takes multiple places.

The deceased musician often claims more than one position on Billboard Reggae album charts, although that is not always the case. Sometimes he fills several rungs with a handful of his popular projects, but in other cases only Legend remains steadfast. This frame, one of his most popular titles, finds its way back onto this list once again.

Marley’s Exodus re-emerges on the reggae album charts this week. The set is back at number 9 on the list of the genre’s most consumed projects in the United States.

Exodus has now spent 70 weeks on the Reggae Albums chart. Previously it peaked at number 3, just edging out Marley for the next top spot on the chart.

This week, Legend is still the top reggae album chart-topper, which should come as no surprise to anyone who follows Marley or this particular ranking. The track topped the list for 231 of the 232 weeks it was on the list.

Since it controls the reggae album ranking, Legend is declining or stable on almost every other chart it appears on. The set is slipping on the Billboard 200 and Top R&B Albums charts and is not moving on either the Vinyl Albums or Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.

Legend manages to climb one spot as people in the U.S. continue to buy the set in bulk. Marley’s greatest hits set has risen three spots to No. 24 on the top album sales chart. According to Luminate, just under 3,500 copies of the title were sold in the latest tracking period, an increase of more than 8% from the previous period.
