Celebrity questioned in connection with Matthew Perry’s death hires criminal defense attorney

The celebrity questioned in connection with the death of Matthew Perry is said to have now hired a criminal defense lawyer.

Friends Veteran Perry died tragically in October 2023.

At the time of his death, his family issued a heartbreaking statement paying tribute to the actor.

It says: “We are heartbroken over the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother.

“Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and as a friend.

“You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous love you have shown us.”

Six weeks after Perry’s death, it was determined that the cause of death was due to the effects of ketamine.

The examiner also said that “drowning, coronary heart disease and the effects of buprenorphine (a drug used to treat opioid addiction)” also contributed to Perry’s death.

According to the Guardian, Perry was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy for anxiety and depression, but his last known infusion was a week and a half before his death. This means that the drugs in his body were not the result of an infusion – so drug abuse could not be ruled out.

Dr. Ed Boyer, a professor of emergency medicine at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center, told CNN in December 2023 that “the increased levels of ketamine indicate high levels of use.”

“Considering that his last ketamine treatment was at least a week ago, abuse – even recreational use – cannot be ruled out,” he added.

It was only in May of this year that the police launched a criminal investigation into the death of the popular actor.

When the investigation began, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) stated in a press release: “Based on the medical examiner’s findings, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the United States Postal Inspection Service, has continued its investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Perry’s death.”

An unnamed prominent woman has since been questioned in connection with Perry’s death, and her phone and laptop have reportedly been confiscated.

Since the investigation is still ongoing, she has now hired a criminal defense attorney.

The woman had voluntarily answered authorities’ questions about the matter before engaging the services of leading Hollywood lawyers, RadarOnline.com reports.

The woman in question is said to deny her involvement in Perry’s death.

“She insists she had nothing to do with Matthew’s death,” a source said.

Speaking to In Touch, the insider added that the female celebrity is “keeping quiet about the situation.”
