Beyoncé’s country debut album “Cowboy Carter” was inspired by Shaboozey and country singers

Beyoncé recently revealed that her move to country music was inspired by the success of Shaboozey and female country singers. In March, she released her first country album, “Cowboy Carter,” featuring tracks like “Sweet Honey Buckin” and “Spaghettii,” the latter of which features a collaboration with singer Shaboozey.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Beyoncé spoke about her motivations for switching genres. “When you break down barriers, not everyone is ready and open to change,” she explained. “But when I see Shaboozey topping the charts and all the wonderful female country singers reaching new heights and inspiring the world, that’s exactly what motivates me.”

Shaboozey also shared his thoughts with the station, expressing gratitude for the attention he has received following the release of “Cowboy Carter,” which has garnered over a billion streams on Spotify. “It was pretty amazing for her to have so many eyes on me at once. For her to be able to put me in the spotlight at that time helped me break through,” he explained. “She helped amplify what I was already doing in that space, and it’s really amazing to see that coming from someone who is really influential (and a) historic figure.”

He also commented on the impact Beyoncé’s project has had on the reach of the genre. “It’s cool to see how far country music has come since Beyoncé’s project. It’s cool to see the music reach the whole world.”

Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” marked a significant milestone, making her the first black woman to top the Billboard Country Albums chart. The album also put several up-and-coming artists in the spotlight, including Tiera Kennedy, Willie Jones, Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts and Tanner Adell.
