Xbox’s leading engineers finish our GI Sprint series next week

Our final keynote session for GI Sprint next week will be Xbox leadership in AI and Cloud.

Haiyan Zhang, General Manager of Gaming AI at Xbox, and Brady Woods, Product Lead at Xbox Game Creator Services, discuss how the latest technology can help game developers create their games better and more efficiently.

The session can be viewed online, listened to as a podcast or read as an article on GamesIndustry.biz on Wednesday, July 3rd.

GI Sprint is our new editorial series featuring video panels, podcasts, interviews, articles and more on the topic of making video games “cheaper, faster and better”.

With development costs on the rise, we spoke to a number of experts about a range of topics that will help studios improve the efficiency of their businesses and development processes. This special runs until Friday, July 5th.

We started the series last week with an interview with the gaming veteran and former PlayStation boss Shawn Laydenwho discussed the lack of sustainability of AAA video games and the need for a rethink. We also spoke to the CTO of IO Interactive Ulas Karademir about his return to the Hitman studio and the possibilities offered by his own technology.

We also hosted a panel on the art of failing fast with Rami IsmailFreeLives’ Dominique Gawlowski and Ant Workshops Tony GowlandWe also published a standalone article with Gowland about developing shorter games.

This week we have a video panel on how AI can (and can’t) accelerate development. King’s AI Lead Sahar Asadi will share her experience with the technology at Candy Crush, while Team Syncs Graham McAllister will explain to us why getting the concept phase right is most important for team efficiency.

Next week we’ll have videos, podcasts and articles on topics like hybrid working, the benefits of a lean team and more. Find the full schedule here.

We will conclude the event with a white paper that summarizes all the articles in one place and can be downloaded for free.
