Everyone still hates Chris | Voice cast confirmed for animated reboot

Chris Rock is the main voice of the animated sequel Everyone still hates Chrisand here are the details.


Chris Rock achieved superstar status after his second HBO stand-up special Bring the pain in 1996. Hollywood lured him and he took on supporting roles in films such as Deadly Weapon 4 And Nurse Bettyas well as writing and directing feature films Down to earth And Head of State. After the much-publicized incident at the Oscars two years ago, Rock released a Netflix special Selective outrage and starred in a civil rights drama Rustin.

In 2005 autobiographical sitcom Everyone hates Chris premiered on television. The show aired on Channel 5 in the UK and depicts a semi-fictionalized version of Rock’s childhood. Tyler James Williams portrayed a teenage Rock, alongside Terry Crews as father Julius, Tichina Arnold as mother Rochelle, Tequan Richmond as younger brother Drew, Imani Hakim as younger sister Tonya, and Vincent Martella as Rock’s school friend Greg.

The series enjoyed great popularity, ran for 88 episodes over four seasons and was nominated for several Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.

An animated sequel series called Everyone still hates Chris is currently being produced for Comedy Central.

As in the original series, Rock will serve as narrator. Crews and Arnold will reprise their roles. Tim Johnson Jr. will voice the young version of Rock, alongside new cast members Ozioma Akagha, Terrence Little Gardenhigh and Gunnar Sizemore.

Sanjay Shah, co-showrunner of the animated musical sitcom “Apple TV” Central Parkserves as showrunner and head writer. Ali Roy, who co-created the original series with Rock, serves as executive producer alongside Rock, Shah, Michael Rotenberg and Dave Becky.

Popular American sitcom Married, with children is also set to be remade as an animated film. However, apart from the initial report a few years ago that the original cast – including Ed O’Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate and David Garrison – would be involved, there has been no further news.
