KSU calls for education strike in Kerala tomorrow in the wake of a sit-in dispute | KSU strike | KSU bandh

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Students Union (KSU), the student wing of the Indian National Congress, has announced a state-wide education strike on Tuesday. KSU president Aloshious Xavier announced this at a press conference on Monday, threatening an indefinite strike if the Plus One seat crisis is not resolved.

KSU and Muslim Students Federation (MSF) intensify their protests over the Malabar Plus One seats issue. KSU’s protest march to the Thodupuzha Deputy Director of Education’s office was blocked by police barricades. Tensions briefly escalated when activists attempted to break through the barricades, leading to a minor clash with police.

In Kozhikode, KSU activists surrounded the Regional Deputy Directors (RDD) office over the seat crisis. Police intervened to prevent the activists from entering the premises. A tense standoff ensued as the activists resisted police attempts to forcibly arrest them.

Subsequently, additional police forces arrived, resulting in the arrest and eviction of seven persons, including District President VT Suraj. Meanwhile, MSF staged protests in Kannur demanding a solution to the Plus One seats crisis. The protesters here too were violently arrested and evicted from the Higher Secondary RDD office.
