Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association appoints Chris Green as President

SEATTLEThe Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association (PNWH2), a multi-state nonprofit coalition focused on creating a robust network of clean hydrogen suppliers and end users in the Pacific Northwestannounced today Chris Green as its first president.

Green will be responsible for implementing PNWH2’s vision of creating a clean hydrogen ecosystem in Washington, Oregon And Montana in partnership with workers, tribal nations, and the public and private sectors. Green will lead the hydrogen hub when Phase 1 begins, which will include detailed project planning in collaboration with the Energy Authority (DOE) to ensure that the overall concept and proposed projects are technologically, financially, and legally viable and obtain the approval of regional and partner tribes and local stakeholders, including labor and environmental groups.

“PNWH2 has assembled a fantastic group of leaders to drive the development of the new hydrogen value chain, which is an essential part of our shared goal to continue to provide clean energy resources to the decarbonized parts of our communities and transportation systems,” said Green. “I look forward to leading this effort and continuing to support the work already being done with other companies, unions, tribal and community leaders, and the Energy Authority to achieve the market launch of this important product, which will further support us in achieving our decarbonization goals.”

With more than twenty years of experience in legislation and economic development, Green is well prepared to Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association as a national leader in clean energy. Green comes from the Washington State Department of Commercewhere he worked as an assistant director for the Office for Economic Development and Competitiveness and was instrumental in the founding of PNWH2. In this role, he helped to establish the association, coordinated the formation of the board and secured a 1 billion US dollars Federal subsidy from the DOE And 5 billion US dollars in non-federal investments from hydrogen projects throughout Washington, OregonAnd MontanaIn this new role, Green will assume the chairmanship of the PNWH2 Board, a position he has held since March 2023.
