Michigan Football is expected to land another blue chip

This recent uptick in Michigan football recruiting is exactly what Wolverines fans have wanted the past three seasons after beating Ohio State to win the Big Ten and national titles.

There are a few reasons why this didn’t quite work out. They are well documented, but uncertainties with the head coach and NIL issues certainly played a role.

Now both hurdles seem to have been overcome. Michigan’s football team may have no chance of finding new high school players, but the NIL has taken a big step forward. That much is clear.

And Sherrone Moore is absolutely great. Michigan fans were expecting a recruiting boost from the new head coach, and it’s finally here.

Michigan received two commitments on Sunday alone. That’s three this week, the second week in a row with three verbal commitments.

Another positive trend for Michigan Football

The Wolverines have 10 commitments for the 2025 class, eight of which are blue-chip prospects. According to the latest crystal balls/expert projections, a four-star wide receiver is expected to be added to that list of commitments as the Wolverines trend with another blue-chip wide receiver.

Jacob Washington is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver from Marrero, Louisiana, and is ranked No. 320 according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings for the class of 2025. Washington has also visited Baylor, Missouri, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State, but the Wolverines appear to be the clear frontrunner.

The Wolverines received a crystal ball from Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider. They also have an 82 percent chance of getting Washington according to the On3 prediction engine after EJ Holland also projected him for Michigan football.

Washington, Andrew Marsh (4-star WR), Andrew Olesh (4-star TE), Maxwell Roy (4-star DL), Taz Williams (4-star WR) and Chase Taylor (3-star LB) are all trending toward the Wolverines.

And that’s not all. Not even close.
