Severe weather warning: Thunderstorms will hit the Michigan-Indiana-Ohio region on Tuesday

Detroit, MI – Southeast Michigan is expecting a mix of sunshine and thunderstorms this week. Temperatures will reach 77 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit on Monday with low humidity and light winds. However, severe weather is expected on Tuesday.

According to the Detroit/Pontiac Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms are likely across southeast Michigan Tuesday morning with a 60-70% chance. There is a slight chance that these storms will be severe, with damaging winds over 60 mph, heavy hail, and localized flooding in cities and lowland areas.

A second wave of strong to severe thunderstorms could occur Tuesday evening. While the probability is lower, there is still a risk, especially near the Michigan-Indiana-Ohio border.

Residents are urged to stay informed and prepared. The National Weather Service recommends having a severe weather safety plan and having multiple ways to receive warnings. The strongest storms are expected to hit Tuesday morning, with a second round possible in the evening.

As temperatures drop below 25 degrees, a severe weather warning remains in place for the region. Stay informed and take the necessary precautions to ensure safety during this severe weather.
