Women’s strike takes place Monday evening in downtown Everett

The Everett Herald strike will not be the only strike in downtown Everett on Monday, June 24.

We have received notification that a “Women’s Strike for Reproductive Freedom and Human Rights” will take place at 5 p.m.

The strike is organized by Snohomish County Indivisible.

Snohomish County Indivisible Strike in Everett in 2022

Here is the description of the nationwide strike in Everett:

Two years after the overturning of Roe v. Wade, this country is in a state of emergency. Trump lied and women are going to die.

Across the country, the “good ol’ boys” are doing everything they can to consolidate their power, control our bodies, and silence our voices. Judges are blatantly disregarding the law, science, and the limits of their own authority to curtail our right to access abortion care. Legislatures are going beyond gerrymandering and voter suppression to strip democratically elected officials of their authority and criminalize our right to protest.

That is why on June 24, wherever we are, we will strike and mobilize to demonstrate our power and solidarity.

The strike begins at 3900 Broadway Ave, Everett, WA 98201-5033, USA.
