Congresswoman Escobar comments on Biden’s executive action on undocumented spouses

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – Congresswoman Veronica Escobar announced today following President Biden’s press conference that spouses of undocumented U.S. citizens may be able to apply for residency without leaving the United States.

Biden’s executive action is set to take effect this summer. 500,000 undocumented spouses could be eligible to apply – to be eligible, an undocumented spouse must be married to their partner as of Monday. The measure could also affect 50,000 uncitizen children.

Following President Biden’s announcement, Congresswoman Escobar spoke at the podium in front of the White House. She told the media, quote:

“I think we can’t underestimate the incredible impact this will have on hundreds of thousands of American families. Hundreds of thousands of American families. The couples and their children will get the chance they deserve.”
