Taylor Swift apparently reacts after Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters suggests she won’t perform live

Dave Grohl seems to shoot at Taylor Swift – not as if it were Patron.

On Saturday, the 55-year-old frontman of the Foo Fighters appeared on stage at the London Stadium and hinted that Swift – the Performance at the other end of town, at Wembley Stadium for the second night of their three-day stop on the Eras tour – will not play live during their shows.

Addressing the crowd, Grohl referenced the other major concert in the British city and seemed to upstage the 34-year-old “You Need to Calm Down” singer, saying, “I’m telling you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.”

“That’s why we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour’. We’ve been through more than a few eras and we’ve made more than a few damn mistakes. Just a few,” the singer told the crowd. “That’s because we’re actually playing live. What? I’m just saying. You like raw, live rock’n’roll music, right? Then you’ve come to the right place.”

Less than 24 hours later, Swift ended her sold out Eras tour stop in London — seemed to clap back at Grohl’s comments as she cheered on her band on stage on the third night. She also thanked the audience (all 80,000 spectators) for the standing ovation after the combined Folklore – More and more Set of the show.

“Every single one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band – who will be playing live for you tonight for 3.5 hours – they deserve this so much. And so does every one of my fellow artists. And you have given this to us so generously, we will never forget it,” Swift said in videos posted online.

Although she did not mention Grohl directly by name, her fans quickly associated the “playing live” remark with the Foo Fighters band member’s comments.

On social media, Swifties did not react kindly to Grohl’s speech, criticizing him for what they called “uncharacteristically mean” comments. Others compared his words to those Blur frontman Damon Albarn murmured in 2022.

At the time, Albarn, 56, was asked about current artists and made some controversial remarks about Swift. While calling Billie Eilish “extraordinary,” Albarn told the Los Angeles Times about Swift: “She doesn’t write her own songs.”

Unlike her alleged response to Grohl, Swift addressed Albarn directly on X (then Twitter): “@DamonAlbarn I was such a huge fan of yours until I saw this.”

“I write ALL of my own songs. Your hasty interpretation is completely wrong and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs, but trying to discredit my writing is really shitty. WOW,” she added.

“PS: I wrote this tweet all by myself, in case you were wondering,” Swift concluded at the time.
