Customer finds beetles in Chicken Biryani from the famous Hyderaba

For someone who discovered bugs in chicken biryani, a fun afternoon of enjoying the dish quickly turned into a disturbing encounter.

Sai Teja took to X to raise his concerns about his recent purchase at Mehfil Biryani in Kukatpally, pointing out that the chicken pieces contained bugs. After reporting the issue to Swiggy and tagging @cfs_telangana for action, he received a message from the app saying, “We regret that your order did not meet our expectations. Packaging is managed solely by the restaurant.”

To appease the customer, A Swiggy customer service representative offered a refund of Rs 64 for the affected items, out of a total bill of Rs 318. Expressing his dissatisfaction with the restaurant, Sai Teja took to social media to urge his followers with a tweet: “Don’t order from Mehfil Kukatpally.”
Furthermore, the user faced a hurdle while trying to file a complaint through the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) website. He noted that “the system is asking me to provide additional details even though I have entered all the required information.”

Internet users react
With 66,300 views on X, the tweet quickly gained attention. One user wrote: “Unfortunately, this is common practice these days.” Expect little resentment at best. No one is questioning this mafia-like structure. Just stop buying groceries online.
“Is a refund of Rs 64 sufficient compensation if consumption of such items unexpectedly causes harm?” asked a concerned user on X.

Another user, citing similar incidents, said, “I had the same issue and even found sharp plastic in the food. Swiggy seems to be solely focused on merchant business.”
Meanwhile, another user expressed his frustration as follows: “I found an aluminium foil in the curry at Vasista Srilakshmi, Kondapur but @cfs_telangana remains inactive.”
